Musician & Actor in Portland, Oregon

Renée Muzquiz is a genre-bending singer-songwriter and actor in Portland, Oregon. She has released two original albums under the name Chica y Los Gatos, her Latin and jazz-influenced indie-rock project. Curve Magazine has compared her vocals to a cross between Joni Mitchell and Tori Amos, and she has shared the stage with prominent Portland musicians including Jen Conlee (Decemberists), Ritchie Young (Loch Lomond), Jeremy Wilson (Dharma Bums) and Zia McCabe (Dandy Warhols). A transplant from Denton, TX in 2008, she has since helped pioneer Portland’s all-woman rock revue, The Vulva Underground, as a lead guitarist.

As an actor, Muzquiz studies at the Actor's Lab with Kristina Haddad and films improvisational shorts with her twin sister, Rochelle Muzquiz for their comedic duo, Twin Empire.
